Nobody can turn back the hands of time. As each day passes, people age and this can be seen in their face as the skin sags and loses its elasticity and firmness. Since time cannot be reversed, the skin can still look young by following these simple skin tightening techniques to a younger appearance.
This can be done through surgery, nonsurgical facelifts, over-the-counter facial washes, creams, scrubs, toners and masks, and natural home remedies. Of all these skin-tightening treatments, it is the home remedies that are affordable and just as effective.
To tighten your skin, you can perform facial exercises twice every day. Such exercises will stimulate, tone and strengthen the unused muscles in the face. There are different facial exercise that can be done such as those for the cheek, eyes, lips, neck and forehead.
One skin-tightening home remedy is a facial massage. Massage your face daily so that it removes toxins and free radicals as these irritate the skin.
It will also promote good blood circulation which in turn produces collagen under the skin. Collagen tightens and tones the skin. You can use jojoba oil when you massage your face using small, circular movements. Focus on the areas with loose skin.
Baking soda also helps to tighten the skin. This works great as a facial toner and scrub as well. When you exfoliate the skin, it will become clear, smooth, toned and tightened.
In a small plate, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda to a little water and make a paste out of this combination.
Wash your face with warm water to open the pores. Massage the paste into the face with small, circular movements. In less than a minute, wash off the paste with cool water to close the pores.
Stay away from the sun as much as possible to fight skin aging. When you go out of the house, put sunscreen or sun block on as this will prevent the sun’s rays from seeping into the skin.
Another way to protect the skin is to remove makeup when you go to sleep. Makeup can promote inflammation of the skin and bacteria may get inside. It can therefore lead to acne.
Having regular exercise also helps in skin tightening. With exercise, good blood circulation is promoted which tones the skin properly.
You should also eat a healthy diet filled with fruits and vegetables as these have nutrients beneficial to the skin and overall health. Avoid food that is high in sugar. Always drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day to moisturize the skin and make it glow.
You should also open up the pores of your skin so that any dirt or oil trapped inside is removed. You can do this by washing your face with warm water or placing a hot and damp towel over your face for a few minutes.
